Can a licensed residential Realtor represent someone who is looking for office space to lease?

Doesn’t that fall into the commercial category?

I am not aware of licenses in that specify Commercial or Residential focus. They may exist in some states but not in CT, RI, NY, or MA where I have a license (I work as a Buyer’s Agent). As far as I am aware, a real estate license legally permits and agent to do both. Call the real estate authority in your state, and you will now for sure.

The limitation, if any, may be experience, rather than the legal right to do the work. Talk to the agent, ask him to explain why he feels he is qualified.
